Keeping in mind people’s hunger for something different and unique, Hotel Akama in Dhumbarahi is opening their restaurant- Chow Bella that has the best of both worlds! Inspired by the company’s tagline ‘A fusion of Luxury, heritage and hospitality,’ this restaurant offers a fusion of Chinese and Italian cuisines.
Setting foot inside Chow Bella transforms one into a different land altogether. The velvet chairs with hues of purple and maroon is a sharp contrast to the wooden floors and the rectangular chandelier which also works as a windchime! This combination of bland yet bold offers a regal look to the eatery. Located at the top of the hotel, the restaurant, through its big square windows, looks over the Kathmandu Valley. Both the hustle of the streets and the quiet of the hills are a view the customers will enjoy if seated for a wholesome meal here. What more! When asked what inspired the dual theme of the restaurant, the Head Chef Sajjan Khanal said it was the lack of options people face when entering an eatery. “We wanted people to have more options in one place itself,” he said. Khanal specialises in Italian food. The Chinese chef, Jitendra Basnet, is a name all Nepali food connoisseurs know. With an experience in the hospitality industry for about 32 years, this chef seems to know his trade and has a passion for it too!
The chef recommends the following six dishes for a three-course meal at the restaurant, which will surely leave you full and happy.
Caesar Salad
With choices of vegetarian, non-vegetarian and shrimp, this classic salad serves as a light appetiser which can be prepared quickly and leave ample space for other meals.
