Hotel Yak & Yeti along with the Embassy of Bangladesh finally brings the festive spirit to Kathmandu, kick-starting Bangladesh Food Festival 2019
An enthusiastic crowd graced the inauguration ceremony of the first international food fest of its kind, the Bangladeshi Sushsadu Khabarer Bishal Haat on March 27. Working in close coordination, dignitaries from the Embassy of Bangladesh and guests from the hotel were welcomed by Ambassador of Bangladesh, Her Excellency Mashfee Binte Shams.
With the arrival of the Chief Guest, Hon'ble Minister of Industry, Commerce and Supplies of Nepal, Matrika Prasad Yadav, the event kick-started on a positive note. Expressing joy and commemorating Bangladesh’ Independence Day, Her Excellency Mashfee Binte Shams spoke a few words followed by Chef Ummah Mostofa and others.
Minister Yadav commenced the lamp lighting rituals and also accompanied Her Excellency with the ribbon cutting ceremony. A gala dinner awaited, delicacies from different regions of Bangladesh were laid out for all to enjoy. In perfect harmony, the lively band Souls crooned while guests enjoyed a lavish meal.
Ushering in and commemorating Bangladesh’ Independence Day on March 26, the Bangladesh Food Festival 2019 commences for a week from March 27 to April 2. This Bangla gastronomic experience is unlike what you’ve seen before, bringing culture, colours and food from the ‘Land of Festivals’.
