Commemorating 40 years of service excellence in an innovative way
Opening its doors in July 1979 Hotel Shangri-La has come a long way, with two established properties and one on the way. After Hotel Shangri-La in Kathmandu and Shangri-La Village Resort in Pokhara, their upcoming venture The Lost Horizon in Begnas is sure to bring in a lot of tourists.
On August 22 the hotel + their 40 years of service excellence with a gala dinner amongst the who’s who of town. The event started with a round of presentations in a formal setting where the General Manager, Samir Banerjee and the Shangri-La team welcomed everyone.
Starting with the Kathmandu property their Deluxe Rooms under renovation will be featuring Dhaka designs. With innovative new designs, it is estimated to be in operation starting this October. The Junior Suite dedicated to Huge Conaway, Desmond Doig, Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay Sherpa will also be open to guests. Revamping their Deluxe Suite, Executive Lounge and The Lost Horizon Café, patrons will now be able to enjoy breakfast with a live egg counter. Opening three new kitchens (Indian, Chinese, Continental), the hotel will soon boast a new bakery and chocolate room. The new Steam and Sauna room at Hotel Shangri-La, Kathmandu could be your safe haven in the midst of the busy city.
Similarly, the Shangri-La Village Resort will also be under construction, their Premium Rooms with balconies will now feature luxurious shower cubicles and their Deluxe Rooms guests will soon be able to enjoy direct access to the lush green gardens. The Sanctuary Coffee Bar and the Sanctuary Garden will also feature a fresh look.
The Lost Horizon, their latest venture in the quaint settlement of Begnas will be a unique addition to Nepal’s luxury tourism. 35 spacious villas with en-suite plunge pools, two helipads and an unforgettable experience is what you’ll get here. The Lost Horizon will be up and running by the year 2020.
A lovely evening lay ahead, a few attendees indulged in a cooking competition that livened up the night. Followed by cocktails and mouthwatering barbeques the venue was bustling with good vibes.
Towards the end of the night, the lucky draw winners were announced. The runner-up prize was round-trip airfare to Pokhara by Buddha Air and a two-night stay in Shangri-La Village Resort while the bumper prize was handed over to Suman Shakya which included round-trip tickets to Dubai from Nepal Airlines.
