Two foreign visitors have been rescued from the Ghodepani of Annapurna Rural Municipality on Friday. They had come on a tour in the area and got stuck due to the lockdown enforced by the government to prevent COVID-19.
Police personnel from Ghodepani Tourist Police post rescued the two Chinese visitors - a woman and a man. The local hotel entrepreneurs had handed over the visitors, who had come during the lockdown, to the police on Thursday. They have been identified as Gushang Hun and Sunfin Liang. It is said that they entered Pokhara on March 10 and arrived at Ghodepani via Ghandruk.
They have been kept in the quarantine facility at the Sarbodaya Secondary School at Bhurung Tatopani. According to Police, the Chinese tourists would be handed over to the Embassy of China in Kathmandu.
