The number of tourists has increased significantly since the park's tiger population grew to 125

Tourist traffic to Bardia National Park is on the rise as both domestic and international visitors flock to catch a glimpse of the park's wild inhabitants, such as tigers, leopards, elephants, giraffes, and hornets. According to Ashok Bhandari, the park's chief conservation officer, the number of tourists has increased significantly since the park's tiger population grew to 125. In the last fiscal year, 1,000 foreign tourists visited the park, but this number has since quadrupled to approximately 4,000. Similarly, the number of domestic tourists has risen from 10,000 to 12,000, while 400 tourists from SAARC countries have become 800.

Bhandari attributes the increase in tourism to the growing number of tigers in the park. He predicts that around 20,000 tourists will visit this year, with visitors from countries such as America, Germany, France, New Zealand, China, and India among them. Bhandari notes that the park's grasslands, rivers, and biodiversity have enhanced the beauty of the park and helped to attract tourists.

The park has implemented measures to manage the conflict between wildlife and humans and increase the tiger's diet, such as limiting tigers to certain areas within the park. Bhandari believes that changing human behavior is necessary to reduce conflicts between humans and wildlife. While the habits and behavior of wild animals cannot be changed, their interactions with humans can be influenced.

The park has made efforts to improve the quality of grasslands and increase food sources for tigers by creating ponds and grasslands in each grid of the park. However, the lack of budget has prevented the restoration of old grasslands. Nonetheless, the park remains home to an impressive array of wildlife, with 56 species of mammals, 438 species of birds, and various aquatic animals._Rss
