On the day of Amuktabharan Saptami, fasting women gather in one place and sing Phag to worship Gauradevi

'Thuli Gaura' is being celebrated today under Gaura, the main festival of the Far West. Fasting women are bringing Gauradevi into Gauraghar. In the local language, this day is called Bhitiriki Gaura or 'Thuli Gaura', and the fasting women consider this day a special day. It is customary for fasting women to bathe in the morning and bring the gaura to the gaura house in the evening. Kamala Bhandari of Dogdakedar Rural Municipality, 6 Sittad, said that today, on the day of Amuktabharan Saptami, fasting women gather in one place and sing Phag to worship Gauradevi.

After installing the idols of Gaura and Maheshwar, fasting women also worshiped Gauradevi with fruits and birudas. A special type of thread, or dubodhago, worn by fasting women is also offered to Gauradevi. In addition to this, it is customary for fasting women to bathe in the pool in the evening. The dubodhago offered to Gauradevi today will be worn by fasting women tomorrow on the day of Durvashtami, i.e., Athabali. On the main day of Gaura Parva, on Saptami day, after worshiping Gaura and Maheshwar, fasting women eat delicious food at night.

It has been a tradition for women to take Gaura from Gauraghar to Gaurakhala on the day of Durvashtami, i.e., Athawali, the main day of Gaura. It is believed that Gaura Devi or Parvati worshiped Lord Shiva in the mythological period to attain Lord Maheshwar. Since then, the tradition of celebrating this festival in memory of the marriage of Gaura and Maheshwar has continued. Just as the men wear clothes, the women in the Far West wear double-breasted clothes during Gaura.

This year, there was a dispute between the astrologers regarding the dates. In some places, Gaura has already started on the 4th of Bhadra, and in some places, preparations are being made to celebrate Gaura on the 18th of Bhadra._Rss
