Three Sherpa siblings become the first Nepal expedition to successfully reach the South Pole

Mingma, Chhang Dawa, and Tashi Lakpa Sherpa are the group of three brothers who have made history by being the first Nepali expedition to reach the South Pole on Sunday. The group had been staying in the Antarctic for three weeks, acclimating and adjusting to the climate before reaching the South Pole on January 2nd.

The trio has shown no sign of stopping either with the group also tackling Mt. Vinson, the highest peak of the Antarctic Continent at a whopping 4892 m height on the second week of January and also planning an expedition to the North Pole in the spring of 2022.

While this is the crowning achievement of the group, the group was already stacked with many achievements. Mingma and Chhang Dawa Sherpa, holding the Guinness World Record for 'World's First Siblings to Climb all 8000ers" and Tashi Lakpa Sherpa holding the record for the youngest Mountain Climber to Climb Everest without supplemental oxygen at the age of 20. This expedition is part of their ambition to scale all the highest peaks of each of the seven continents of the world.
