The bridge not only joined the two towns but also knit the locals' hearts together. After connecting the two towns, a suspension bridge has also made the locals happy.

Khungkhani, Narjakhani, and Thaspuri villages are the most remote villages in Baglung. Although the villages here seem close, it takes hours to reach from one village to another due to the geographical difficulty. There is a secondary school in Khungkhani.

Students from Thaspuri and Narjakhani have to go there to study. It used to take about three hours to reach Khungkhani, but now that time has been reduced. Three years ago, after the suspension bridge construction connecting Tamankhola Rural Municipality-5 Khungkhani to the big station, the time was shortened by about one and a half hours.

“Locals and students who used to spend an hour and a half to cross the Khungkhani River can now reach Khungkhani-Thula station in five and a half hours. This suspension bridge has changed the daily life of the citizens of this area,” said Gobind Chantyal, Local.

"This bridge has made our life easier. Until three years ago, it was challenging to cross the river. The villages are high and the river is very low. The villages seem close, but because there is a river in the middle, it takes hours to go from one village to another. Having to come from the village of Pari, they also suffered a lot, now it is very easy, it does not take much time to go to the village of Pari, and the students are also very happy.” He added.

“The land and barns of the local people of Khungkhani were located in the village across the river and they had to face a lot of problems in transportation as they had to do farming there.” He recalled.

“After the bridge construction, he used to get up in the morning and go to work in the fields, but he had to return late. Even daily life is becoming easier now and the bridge also attracted outsiders.” Said, Chantyal.

“Many people here have land, land, and sheds across the street, they have to go to big stations to do their daily work, if the bridge was not built, they used to take two hours to reach the shed, but now they can reach it in 30 minutes. Since the forest for cutting our grass has not been crossed, the bridge has. It has also made it easier to bring grass and firewood from the forest, now it doesn't take hours to return from working in the fields and barns like before.” He added.

“The bridge has proved to be a boon for them. It is straightforward to come and go to school and studies are also getting better,” said Prem Century of Thaspuri, who studies at Shanti Secondary School in Khungkhani.

“It is across the village from the school, it used to be very difficult to go back and forth every day. It used to take an hour to go down to the river, and an hour and a half to reach the school from the river. Now it can be reached in half an hour. Before, I was tired from walking a lot, so I didn't pay much attention to my studies, I only needed to sleep. Now the studies are also getting better.” Said prem._Rss
