The Narmadeshwar Moksha Ashram in Triveni Madaurukuna Madaurughat of Pokhara Metropolitan City Ward Nos. 27, 29 and 33 will be developed as a religious tourist destination. The Narmadeshwar Moksha Ashram Dham Conservation Committee has put forward a plan for the development of physical infrastructure in the temple complex located at the confluence of Shukla Gandaki and Bagadi rivers, which is considered as a place of worship for sages like Kardam-Kashyap.

Chairman of the Narmadeshwar Moksha Shram Dham Conservation Committee, Jhavindra Raj Acharya, said that the shrine has been known as a place of pilgrimage to fulfill the desires of seekers since ancient times. He further informed that the infrastructure development plan has been put forward highlighting the importance of the pilgrimage site. "Shree Narmadeshwar Shivalinga of 11 feet height will be installed in the sanctum sanctorum at a depth of 15 feet depth, 32 feet long and 15 feet width, including 12 Jyotirlingas in the Dham premises," he said.

The committee has stated that there will be artistic idols based on the Leela style of Lord Shiva, Lord Ram Chandra, Lord Krishna etc. in the temple premises spread over an area of ​​12 ropanis. Stating that the height of the temple will be 45 feet from the ground level and the width will be 50 feet, Acharya said that the aim is to make the region an unparalleled sanctuary by erecting statues of Nepali mothers and incarnate great men.

The committee has been providing daily meals, accommodation to the monks, saints, old people, celibates, devotees and devotees as well as hospitality meals for other guests and religious tourists as per priority. A handful of donations have been called for the cause. The committee has put forward a small and master plan for the construction of Gaushala in Dham, Vishal Guest House, a well-equipped building for pilgrims coming to Pokhara and Muktinath, Gaushala, Yajna Mandap, 108 Shivalinga, Dharmakuwa, Mahakaleshwar Akhand Deep, 108 Deepal and others. The aim is to establish a Vedic Sanatan Modern Gurukul Pathshala in the Dham, said Chairman Acharya. Stating that the construction of infrastructure is estimated to cost Rs. 80 million as per the master plan, he informed that 35 percent of the target plan has been completed.

Swami Anurag (Mauni Baba), the chairperson of Narmadeshwar Moksha Shram Dham, said that there is still no definite fact as to when this shrine, which is an ancient abode of sages, has existed. He informed that this shrine will also be considered as a patriarchal shrine. "The aim is to develop the shrine as an important religious tourist destination in the region by completing the targeted plan," said Chairperson Mauni Baba, who is also the architect of the map of the temple under construction.

There are even some legends about Dham. There is a legend that in ancient times, asceticism, sadhana and yajna were performed in the shade of a bar tree. There is still a tradition that a seeker worships at this place through penance and sadhana in a special religious festival through an invisible priest, and when the devotees arrive for the pooja, the pooja is done. Special fairs are held in the Dham on important dates like Vaishakh, Saun and Maghe Sankranti as well as Shivaratri, Navdurga, Harishyani Ekadashi, Haribodhini Ekadashi, Ram Navami, etc. With the aim of highlighting the dignity and importance of the Dham, the committee has been conducting a special Ganga Aarti on the Ekadashi date of Shukla Paksha of each month. A conference of saints was held in this shrine from 11 to 21 February 2073 BS.

Adviser of the committee, Pitamber Poudel, said that there is a lot of potentials to develop this shrine as a religious tourist destination. He said that the completion of the targeted plan along with publicity would also help in the overall development of the region.
