The road from district headquarters, Silgadhi to Bajhang has been obstructed due to landslides triggered by heavy rainfall over the past three days. The road passing via Kalena, Machintola, Dallek, and Mellek remains closed for traffic after a landslide occurred at a place called Chisapani of Silgadhi.

As a result, travelers have suffered while transporting essential goods to the villages and the sick people in the district hospital have also been affected, said local of Silgadhi municipality-9, Man Bahadur Saud.

Furthermore, the landslides in Chisapani have also damaged water supply pipes, the source of drinking water, as a result of Silgadhi has been facing a water crisis for the past three days. Though staffers have been mobilized to renovate the damaged pipes, it has not been possible due to landslides in multiple locations, said chair of the Silgadhi drinking water users committee Ram Chandra Dhami.

As rainfall continues to take place, the lack of efforts by the concerned authorities to clear the road for traffic has agitated the citizens, said local resident Pahal Singh Saud.
