Rhododendron seedlings were planted by the mayors from all over Nepal who were in Pokhara for the ‘Mayor's Conference-2079’.

11 different types of Rhododendron seedlings have been planted by Metropolitan leaders in Shiv Mandir View Tower complex located at Sarangkot, a popular tourist site in Pokhara.
The conference was attended by the chiefs of Kathmandu Metropolitan Balendra Shah, Lalitpur Chiribabu Maharjan, Bharatpur Renu Dahal, Birgunj Rajeshman Singh, Biratnagar Nagesh Koirala, Pokhara Chief Acharya, as well as Deputy Chiefs and Chief Administrative Officers.
With the intention of planting Rhododendron on high hills around Pokhara and beautifying idle land, metropolitan leaders, deputy heads, chief administrative officers, and specialists from throughout the nation hauled Rhododendron plants to Sarangkot on Saturday, as per Dhanraj Acharya, head of the Pokhara metropolis. He also added that the city would give required assistance for the campaign to plant red rhododendron at high hills.
Dhakaram Lamichhane, a conservation and development engineer for Rhododendron, assisted in bringing those plants from Tehrathum, and a plan has been formed to plant 32 types of plants native to Nepal on unused land.
It is believed that if the Rhododendron can be planted and protected, the significance of the national flower will increase along with the beautification on the high hills of the metropolitan area.
