Rani Mahal is located about 13 kilometres north of Tansen, the headquarters of Palpa district. There are 24 rooms in This Rani Mahal, which is spread over an area of about 11 ropanis. In its premises, you can see attractive gardens, Shivalalay, Panipokhari, nag nagini watering in Shivalinga, kitchen, horse-tying bells and various attractive artworks.

In 1950 BS, Chief of Army Staff Khadga Shumsher of Palpa Gouda had constructed Rani Mahal in memory of his late Queen Tej Kumari. Located between Boughagumha of Tansen Municipality and Khanigaun of Bagnaskali Rural Municipality, Rani Mahal is the first choice of the youth. In 1950 BS, the foundation stone was laid and in 1954, the rock of Kaligandaki River was decorated with an unmatched model of western art skills.

“Tansen municipality has provided rose flowers, lunch, food and accommodation to 25 couples who reached Rani Mahal. The municipality has made preparations for a grand welcome of the couple through Tansen town tourism development sub-committee,” said Tansen Municipality spokesperson, Yadav Singh Karki

“The number of tourists visiting this palace is increasing not only on this day but also on holidays. Earlier, there was a provision for free observation, but now the entry fee has been fixed at Rs 50,” said Bishnu Bahadur Thapa, an employee of Rani Mahal.
