With the rapid spread of second wave of COVID-19 across the country, six more districts in the country have gone for prohibitory order. With this, 29 districts in the country have in partial or full lockdown meant to break the chain of Corona Virus.  

Gulmi, Phyutha, Kavre, Gorkha, Bajura and Udayapur districts have enforced prohibitory order from today, the Ministry of Home Affairs said. Three districts will go in lockdown from this midnight while seven other districts will enforce the prohibitory order from Sunday. 

It is said that Udayapur, Pyuthan and Gulmi will have the prohibitory order across the district. Likewise, Morang, Jajarkot and Jhapa district had already enforced prohibitory order to be implemented from this midnight. 

Similarly, Salyan, Rukum West and Dadeldhura will have prohibitory order from 6:00 am on Sunday.
The Chief District Officers (CDOs) have been issuing prohibitory orders in the districts after the Ministry of Home Affairs entrusted the concerned CDOs to issue such order considering the local context of the Corona Virus.    

As per the Infectious Disease Control Act 1964, the government has given responsibility to the CDOs to issue prohibitory order in case the hilly and mountainous districts have 200 actives cases of the Corona Virus and 500 active cases of Corona Virus in the Kathmandu Valley and Tarai districts.
