The prohibitory order in Surkhet district has been extended by more 10 days. As per the new adjustment, the prohibitory order imposed in the district one month ago following the second wave of COVID-19 will end on June 8. A decision in this regard was taken as per suggestion provided by the district COVID-19 management committee, said Chief District Officer Chhabi Lal Rijal.

So far, the district has recorded over 10,000 infection cases with 2,401 active cases as of Friday, according to the Public Health Service Office. Meanwhile, a COVID-19 management committee meeting has urged the Karnali Province government to provide Rs 100,000 as decided to the family of those who have died from the infection.
