President Bidya Devi Bhandari has urged all Nepalis to stay indoors considering the sensitive circumstances stemming from the pandemic COVID-19 and save one’s previous life, as well as one’s family. Issuing a message here today in the context of minimising the spread of COVID-19, President Bhandari appealed for complete compliance with the code of conduct and directives issued by the authorized agencies of the government so as to contain the outbreak of the deadly virus.
Stating that the coronavirus had posed a global challenge, the President called for a unified effort to get over this difficult phase. She was of the view that one could take advantage of the nation-wide lockdown imposed by the government to stem the spread of COVID-19 by indulging in creative and productive activities while staying at home. “As the country goes into lockdown, I believe that we can utilize this time to mull how we could make our economy self-reliant.”
The Head of the State also drew the attention of the federal government, district coordination committees, municipalities and rural municipalities to forge strong coordination and arrange for infrastructure and technical preparation in the fight against COVID-19.
She has urged all the political parties, their sister organizations, youth clubs, students and welfare organizations to join the government’s battle against COVID-19.
