The number of active infected people across the country has decreased by 77 since Tuesday. While 1,490 people have been infected in the last 24 hours, 1,567 people have been infected and the number of actively infected people has decreased.
A spokesperson of the Ministry of Health and Population, Dr. Jageshwor Gautam, said that 925 males and 565 females have been infected today. According to the ministry, 218,161 people have been infected so far, including 1,567. The recovery rate so far has been 92.3 percent. The number of active infected people has reached 16,547 so far, according to the ministry. The infection rate among PCR tests is 13.5 percent. At the same time, the total number of infected people has reached 236,246.
There are 723 more infected people in Kathmandu Valley today. In Kathmandu district, 531 new infections have been added, Lalitpur 61 and Bhaktapur 58 new infections. There are 398 males and 325 females among the newly infected people in Kathmandu Valley today. There are currently 6,650 infected people in Kathmandu, 1,404 in Lalitpur and 575 in Bhaktapur.
In the last 24 hours, 8,300 samples were tested in laboratories across the country. So far, 1,754,630 samples have been tested. It is said that 60 thousand 129 tests were done per one million population. So far, the infection rate in PCR tests is 13.5 percent.
Of the active infected, 10,741 are currently in home isolation and 5,806 in institutional isolation. According to the provinces, the number of people living in home isolation is 1,629 in Province 1, 298 in Province 2, 6,788 in Bagmati, 749 in Gandaki, 624 in Lumbini, 108 in Karnali and 545 in Far Western Province.
Today, there are 365 infected ICUs in the country. There are 32 infected ICUs in Province 1, seven in Province 2, 144 in Bagmati Province, 94 in Gandaki Province and 72 in Lumbini Province, nine in Karnali Province and seven in Far Western Province. Similarly, 11 in Province 1, two in Province 2, 34 in Bagmati Province, 12 in Gandaki Province, three in Lumbini Province and two in Far West have a total of 64 infected ventilators.
A total of 34,802 samples have been tested from Sunday to Wednesday. During this period, 5,523 were infected and 6,975 were free of infection. The ministry said 84 people had died during the period.
Ministry spokesperson Dr. Gautam said that the services and works that are crowded will be suspended for another 15 days. According to him, cinema houses, night businesses, other crowded places, gatherings, conferences, processions, etc. are being stopped. Although some countries around the world are developing vaccines against corona, they are yet to be commercially produced, he said. "Still, adhering to health standards is the only way to prevent infection," he said.
