Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Nepal Chapter has organised a press conference today (September 11) to give details about launching of the historical Nepal India China Expo (NICE) in collaboration with Visit Nepal Year (VNY) 2020 and Nepal Tourism Board (NTB).

Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Nepal Chapter has organised a press conference today (September 11) to give details about launching of the historical Nepal India China Expo (NICE) in collaboration with Visit Nepal Year (VNY) 2020 and Nepal Tourism Board (NTB). NICE is a noble concept envisioned by PATA Nepal Chapter for the first time as a tri-nation tourism expo bringing together the tourism and hospitality stakeholders and organisations from public and private sectors of the three neighbouring countries on a single platform by facilitating all three with unparalleled networking and business opportunities, industry insights and inspiration. This event will be organised from February 21 to 24 in 2020 targetting VNY 2020.

The programme started with a welcome speech by Suresh Singh Budal, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of PATA Nepal Chapter. Followed by a speech from Deepak Raj Joshi, CEO of NTB. He said, “India and China are the two largest outbound markets and can also contribute in the tourism development of our country as well. The event like NICE will be successful only when we will all promote this event from every level.”

A presentation regarding the detail information of the event was presented by CEO Budal. The presentation covered the information about the prospective partners, guests and delegates enrolment plan, buyers and sellers profile and so on. A promo-video featuring tourist destinations and tourist attractions of China, Nepal and India was also shown during the press conference. ”We should work with our neighbouring countries for an event like NICE as we are receiving large number of tourists from these countries. Even we should move forward with confidence to welcome the targetted tourists for VNY 2020. We are also working for the international promotional programmes of VNY 2020" said Suraj Vaidya, VNY 2020 National Coordinator.

After that Sunil Sakya, Chairman of PATA Chapter Nepal gave a brief information about NICE and he said, “NICE is a first tri-nation tourism expo on a single platform that’s why it is also challenging for us so we need support from every level. And tourism power houses like India and China will definitely help Nepal to prosper in tourism and hospitality.”

During the end of the press conference, Shreejana Rana, President of Hotel Association Nepal said, “Previously, cities like Pokhara and Chitwan were only known as a tourist destinations but now because of VNY 2020 every state has started to promote the tourist destinations of their state and we will be able to promote our destinations to each and every corners of India and China through the event like NICE.”
