Nepali team to ascent Mount K2

The all Nepalese team will guide Tseng Ko-Erh to be the first woman climber to scale Mount K2 in the winter

A team of Sherpa climbers has reached Skardu, a city in Pakistan, on January 16 with hopes to climb the world's second-highest mountain, K2, this winter season. The Taiwanese Winter K2 Expedition, led by Nima Gyalzen Sherpa, will guide Tseng Ko-Erh, who if successful will be the first woman to scale Mount K2.
"We are now at Skardu and will leave for K2 Base Camp soon," says Sherpa, also the Managing Director of Dolma Outdoor Expedition Pvt Ltd.
The team comprises Tseng Ko-Erh, Nima Gyalzen Sherpa, Furu Sherpa, Chhiring Sherpa, Dawa Sherpa, Ngima Tendi Sherpa, and Ningma Dorje Tamang. Tseng made her way to Kanchenjunga last spring, becoming the first-ever Taiwanese woman to scale the world’s third-highest peak. Nima Gyalzen Sherpa mentions Tseng’s successful ascents to Mount Everest, Mount Lhotse, Mount Manaslu, and Mount Dhaulagiri." Tseng wants to be the youngest woman to climb all 14 peaks above 8000 metres," he adds. Sherpa, who has also set multiple records in mountain climbing, and the team will guide her to be the first woman climber to scale Mount K2 in the winter season.
