The height of Everest has increased by 86 cm. The governments of Nepal and China today jointly announced an increase in the height of the highest peak, Mount Everest. Now the height of Everest will be eight thousand 848.86 meters.
For the first time, Nepal has measured the height of Everest with its own resources. Nepal took about two years to measure its height.

During Chinese President Xi Jinping's visit to Nepal last year, the two countries agreed to declare the height of Mount Everest.
