With the Visit Nepal Year 2020 right around the corner, this MoU signing ceremony was an important step in reinforcing the support from Turkish Airlines in making VNY 2020 a success. The MoU was signed between of General Manager of Turkish Airlines for Nepal, Abdullah Tuncer Kececi and National Coordinator of VNY 2020, Suraj Vaidya with the presence of invited guests and media.
General Manager of Turkish Airlines for Nepal, Abdullah Tuncer Kececi said, “Nepal has always been a tourist destination. Seeing it flourish in the tourism sector is one of our dreams. Nepal has great potential and the tourists visiting Nepal can have different of experience.” He also said that everyone abroad has a positive vibe about Nepal and VNY 2020 is just the beginning of a journey.
National Coordinator of VNY 2020, Suraj Vaidya said, “Nepal needs to give importance to air connectivity and focus on direct flights. As we came up with the phrase ‘Lifetime Experience’ for VNY 2020, we were worried that it would be a negative one because of our gateway International Airport. The government is making improvements on infrastructure by initiating various development projects.” He also raised the issues about ticket price and air fuel prices in Nepal being expensive and the Nepal government should come with some solutions.
The agreement highlights the role of Turkish Airlines helping promote VNY 2020 in all its destinations. This agreement goes beyond VNY 2020 to promote Nepal as a tourism destination. Turkish Airlines has also been bringing influencers from Europe in order to promote Nepal and will continue to do so.
