The Gita Jayanti festival is being observed with a variety of events, including sermons and readings.

Gita Jayanti festival is celebrated with various programs including readings and sermons to commemorate the day when the Gita, the religious book of the Vedic Sanatan Hindu religion was published.

Various programs are planned to be organized on the occasion of Gita Jayanti with the aim of transferring Vedic knowledge to future generations. Five thousand one hundred and thirty years ago, on the day of Margashirsha Shukla Ekadashi, after the Mahabharata war between the Kauravas and the Pandavas, Krishna, who was born on earth as the eighth incarnation of Vishnu, is believed to have reawakened the knowledge of the Gita in Kurukshetra through Arjuna. God has given us the knowledge of Gita through Arjuna.

When the Mahabharata war was going to take place in Kurukshetra for 18 days, when Arjuna was not ready to fight against his relatives, the Gita was the book that Lord Krishna gave a sermon.

At that time, the Kauravas had 11 Akshayoni armies, the Pandavas had seven Akshayoni armies, and Lord Krishna was on the side of the Pandavas, as the charioteer of Arjuna, seeing that his grandfather Bhishmapitamah was the commander on the side of the Kauravas, Arjuna doubted about going to war, the Gita was recited as a sermon to convince him.

The institution has been celebrating Mokshada Ekadashi i.e Gita Jayanti since nine years ago. Similarly, it is said that a program will be held today at Gita Temple Swayambhu. It is said that the World Hindu Federation and its various branches are also going to organize a program in the capital today on the occasion of Gita Jayanti. On this occasion, Gita reading and other programs will also be held in various temples. Bhakti, knowledge, and Vairagya Yoga are discussed in the Gita.

“Out of 1,131 branches of the four Vedas, only 12 are in existence, so that the knowledge of Gita does not disappear like the others.” Said Kumar Adhikari, President of Zeer Educational Foundation

"Two out of 21 branches of Rigveda, four out of 101 branches of Yajurveda, four out of 1000 branches of Samaveda, two branches out of nine branches of Atharvaveda are currently available, the others have disappeared, the Gita Jayanti program has been started to celebrate the public awareness so that the Gita does not suffer the same fate," he said added._Rss
