His Excellence Naveen Srivastava, Indian Ambassador to Nepal held a meeting with Dhanraj Acharya, Chief of the Pokhara Metropolitan Municipality, to discuss Pokhara’s future in tourism sector.
The major highlights of the meeting were improving linkages between Pokhara and several Indian cities, infrastructure assistance for the travel industry, and regular flights from Pokhara Regional International Airport to India.
Following the meeting, Acharya shared with the media that the Pokhara Regional International Airport had reached its completion and is now ready for use, and that they wanted to connect Pokhara with a number of Indian cities through regular flights.
Chief Acharya expressed his appreciation for India's assistance in Pokhara’s growth and the area around it, but he also expects further assistance in planning significant infrastructures needed to ready Pokhara as a major tourist destination.
Srivastava praised Pokhara's picturesque scenery and pledged to work with the Nepalese government to improve the city's infrastructure. The installation of a "Pension Camp" and cooperation on a number of projects were pledged by Srivastava at the conference. _RSS
