Foreigners enjoy MBC Trek, but they worry about the inadequate infrastructure.

German national Michael Hider is together with his wife Jutla Haider and her friend Katrin Zaglauer, they made the trek to the Makalu Base Camp. They were thrilled to be in the shadow of the great mountains in Nepal.

“I love the mountains of Nepal. I found trail-like roads in some places and i think trekking trail must be natural and very safe.” said Michael.

“The roads from Khandbari to Num was very bad. It is better to have no road than very bad roads.” said Jutla who is concerned about the road.

“Germany also has some off-road but they are forty times better than what she has seen in Khandbari- Num area,” she added.

“I loved MBC trek, the local Sherpa village and culture but not the infrastructures. I think it will be better in the future,” said Jutla's friend Katrin Zaglauer

''I was very scared on the landslide areas. I do not love this type of trail. There needs to have better infrastructures in beautiful trekking trail like Makalu Base Camp trek.” said Anna-Mari-Trlin, a recent trekker from Italy.

''We were about to end our journey from Dobato as we had to return after being unable to cross a rivulet in the heavy raining days,'' said Madan Khabas, a trekker from Taplejung.

“My team had to wait couple of days to cross the swollen rivulet. If there was a proper trail, this would not have been an issue'' said Madan.

“It was heartrending to see the damaged trail, haphazard landsides, and poorly constructed trails. It was very scary to see a huge landslide area along the bank of the Barun river. The rope in Shiva Dhara was unreliable.” said Ujjwal Basnet, a trekker from the Sankhuwasabha district itself._Rss
