The trekking and mountaineering season has begun, and daily flights to Lukla are now available from Ramechhap's Manthali Airport. Tara Air, Summit Air, and Sita Air have commenced regular flights to facilitate easier access for tourists to the gateway of Mt Everest.

To avoid congestion at Tribhuvan International Airport during peak tourist times, airlines are bringing travelers to Manthali and then flying them to Lukla. This change aims to streamline travel logistics.

The number of tourists visiting the Khumbu region, especially from March to May, has significantly increased. Despite flights starting last Friday, operations were hampered by adverse weather conditions.

With improved weather, regular flights have resumed, and provisions for aviation fuel in Manthali have been made to support the increased flight activity.

The start of daily flights from Manthali Airport to Lukla signals the beginning of the trekking and mountaineering season, catering to the influx of tourists keen on exploring the Khumbu region and Mt Everest.
