The attention during times of pandemic and national crisis should be fighting against it together, rather than resorting to protests, he said. In a consultative meeting with health experts on COVID-19 and its prevention at the Prime Minister's Baluwatar residence today, the Prime Minister said the efforts to control Corona pandemic cannot be successful with the government's initiative alone. Public awareness about it would make it quicker to achieve success in the efforts. "Social discipline could help defeat Corona virus."

The Prime Minister said effective measures have been taken to prevent and control COVID-19 despite poor status in terms of health workers, equipment and structure. "Since the pandemic, we have developed infrastructure and have become successful in compared to better-equipped nations."

Indicating towards ongoing protests and demonstration, the Prime Minister said supporting good deeds and protesting against bad ones will help maintain the morality of any protest. "People's dissatisfaction and anger could be taken as normal but we should be alert towards the protests made just on the basis of different faith and belief," he added.

On the occasion, Secretary at the Office of the Prime Minister Mahendra Guragain said laboratory capacity in the country has now been increased to 18,000 tests per day, with 400,000 people tested so far.
