Lawmakers at the meeting of the House of Representatives today have demanded appropriate plans and expansion of scope to prevent and control COVID-19.
During the zero hours they stressed the need for expanding swabs tests and its management. They also called for launching investigations into the Chaurjahari incident and taking action against the guilty. The incident involved the death of five men and one is still reported missing. Amrita Devi Agrahari put her concerns that the government failed to manage required isolation wards in high-risk areas of Tarai districts to deal with increasing infected people.
Likewise, Uma Kanta Chaudhary demanded that the government properly manage quarantine facilities across the country citing reference that the quarantines have been set up violating the stipulated standards. Uma Regmi drew the attention of the government through the Speaker to make arrangements for all hospitals to provide regular services amid the infection.
Dr Amresh Kumar Singh put his reservations against the government's attempt to deploy Nepalese Army to manage the crisis, while Kalyani Kumari Khadka demanded that people entering Nepal from India through various transits should be allowed only after doing their PCR tests as State 2 is put at high risks due to their unsafe inflow into Nepal.
