The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) is constructing a 100- bed capacity Kathmandu Metropolis Special Hospital with specialised services and modern facilities. Mayor Bidya Sundar Shakya announced this while unveiling the KMC's Policies and Programmes for upcoming Fiscal Year 2021/22 here today. The hospital would have specialised services for the treatment of senior citizens.
Mayor Shakya tabled the Policies and Programmes in the first meeting of the Ninth Municipal Assembly today. KMC has prioritised the programmes directed at COVID-19 prevention and control in its Policies and Programmes for the FY 2021/22. It is stated that the metropolis would provide support related to response, treatment and humanitarian aid to the KMC denizens affected by COVID-19.
The Policies and Programmes also mentions that a call centre would be operated for continuously monitoring the health condition of COVID-19 patients and for providing consultation and treatment, psycho-social counseling would be provided, telemedicine service would be operated, COVID tests would be conducted, ambulance service would be run, isolation service, COVID Special Hospital service and oxygen support and other services would be provided free of charge.
