The district chapter of Nepal Red Cross Society has urged one and all to voluntarily donate blood. The Red Cross made this appeal after facing an acute shortage of blood.
The society district chair Lokraj Dhakal stated that the blood shortage may create a crisis in this critical hour if blood donation campaigns were not announced soon. “Blood is required for emergency operations and other critical cases in the hospitals but we have no stock,” he added.
"The Birtamode based blood bank is supplying blood to B and C Hospital, Birta City Hospital, Kankai Hospital, Kanchanjanga Hospital, Sanjeevani Hospital, and Manmohan Community Hospital, among others. But now the blood bank is facing an acute shortage of blood. The blood bank has only 12 pints of blood in stock," Dhakal said.
