Jamaica's ministry of tourism has struck a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Spain in FITUR 2022 Tourism Fair
As the Caribbean destination countries continue to rebuild their tourism industry, Jamaica's ministry of tourism has struck a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Spain in FITUR 2022 Tourism Fair.
They have agreed to co-operate on various aspects of tourism development and will focus on their capacity to withstand international and global shocks. They also discussed the role of the United Nations World Trade Organization (UNWTO) as a critical institution to redevelop tourism in small and medium-sized countries to recover.
They also have agreed to discuss further in the first Global Tourism Resilience Day, on February 17 at Expo 2020 in Dubai. It will also aid countries in understanding and mitigating the effects of these shocks on their development, but most importantly, it will help them manage and recover quickly after these shocks.
