The 28th Sri Krishna Dwaipayan Ved Vyasa's Landing Land Festival was organized by the Central Office of the Veda Followers Institute Nepal and started on Tuesday.
Inaugurating the Mahamilan festival, Dr. Ramchandra Adhikari, Central President of the World Hindu Federation of Nepal, discussed the need for everyone's initiative to make the land of Vyasa known to the world. Appreciating the ongoing work of promoting Vyasabhoomi, he opined that this place should be developed as a destination for Hindus from all over the world.
Earlier, Shanti Swarupananda Damodar Baba's Satsang kelp and guardian Gobind Baba's and Veda follower's foundation organized story reading for 18 months and the first historical 18 months of Akhand Harinam Sanrkitan and 108 Srimad Bhagwat Gyan Mahayagna and Bhoomipujan have been completed in Vyasabhoomi.
With the aim of making Vyasabhoomi known around the world and developing religious tourism, the necessary infrastructure construction work for a 180 feet diameter statue has been started with the activation of the Vyasa Area Development Fund.
There is a Shivapanchayan temple in Damauli, the birthplace of Vyasa. At the bottom of the temple, there is a cave. It is claimed that sage Vyasa wrote the Charveda and Athar Puranas while sitting there. Parashar Cave is adjacent to Vyas Cave. A suspension bridge has been constructed over the Madi River to reach Parashar Cave. Those who came to visit Vyasgufa also crossed the bridge to reach the Parashar area.
There is a religious belief that Vyasa landed in this area about five thousand five hundred years ago. In the context of the birth of Vyasa Rishi, Vyasa's mother Satyavati was born in a pool on the west side of Chhabdi Barah temple, eight km east of Damauli.
“The program was organized with the aim of promoting religious tourism by making Vyasabhoomi known to the world. Mahamilan festival will be conducted till the 30th of October.” Said Krishnakant Kafle, the central president of the foundation.
“Vyasabhoomi will be a place of worship for Omkar and Sanatan Dharma devotees for a month and 108 lamps will be lit for a month. On the occasion of the Mahamilan festival, 1.5 million lamps will be lit for the rescue of ancestors.” said, Organizers.
“The program was organized because it was felt that the Vyasabhoomi, which is important in religious, cultural, and tourist terms, has been overshadowed. Ved Vyas, the great poet of Eastern literature, wrote the Mahabharata, Char Veda, and Athar Puranas in this land, even though it has been proven by various sources, but Vyasabhoomi has not been properly disseminated.” Said Durga Bhakta Adhikari, Vice President of the Foundation._Rss
