Kathmandu, September 24, 2026: Global News Network (GNN) and Travel World Online have announced that the Global Tourism Excellence Awards 2027 (GTEA 2027) will be held in Kathmandu, bringing together tourism, hospitality and travel stakeholders from Nepal, India and international markets.
The announcement was made at a gathering of tourism industry leaders, representatives of key tourism organisations and media in Kathmandu.
As part of the announcement, GNN Prakashan Pvt. Ltd. and Aloft by Marriott Kathmandu Thamel signed a Memorandum of Understanding appointing the hotel as the Official Host Hotel for GTEA 2027.
Fishtail Tours & Travels has also joined as the Event and Travel Partner for Nepal. Under its agreement with GNN, the company will support the initiative with travel and local transportation arrangements, delegate movement and travel assistance for visiting participants.
Speaking on the occasion, the Group Editor of Global News Network said the awards in Kathmandu reflect GNN's commitment to strengthening international tourism and business connections with Nepal.

The Global Tourism Excellence Awards recognise outstanding contributions, achievements and innovation across the tourism, travel and hospitality sectors. The awards will follow an independent and merit-based process, with nominations and winners determined through the organiser's established award process and appointed jury.
The awards evening will bring together tourism and hospitality leaders, travel professionals, destination representatives, buyers, media, awardees and other industry stakeholders. The initiative also aims to strengthen Nepal's engagement with international travel markets while creating opportunities for business networking, destination promotion, hospitality partnerships and recognition of tourism excellence.
The announcement was attended by representatives of PATA Nepal Chapter, Hotel Association Nepal (HAN), Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA), Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) and other members of Nepal's tourism fraternity.
GTEA 2027 is expected to take place in Kathmandu in late July or early August 2027. The final date will be confirmed in consultation with the organisers and relevant partners.
