Vipassana Dhakal from Rato Bangala School becomes the winner of the art competition organised from May 27 to July 31. Vipassana wins a return economy class ticket of Turkish Airlines to Istanbul, Turkey along with one of her parents. Turkish Airlines organised the art competition aligning with Glocal Pvt Ltd, a platform that is exclusively for the teenagers that recognise their work related to any fields. ‘Flying with Turkish Airlines: Dream Destination’ was a themed art competition organised at 49 schools and for students of age group of 13-19. The objective of the art competition was to highlight students’ artistic talents through fine art. Through Turkish Airlines the themed art statement promoted reflective and critical thinking regarding visual art and at the same time supported students in building their dreams.
The winner felicitation programme was organised today (September 19) at Rato Bangala School with the presence of Abdullah Tuncer Kececi, General Manager of Turkish Airlines; Archanna Shrestha, Regional Marketing Representative of Turkish Airlines, representative from Glocal Pvt. Ltd, teachers, students and media persons from different news portals. The programme started with a welcome speech by a teacher and a briefing session about the art competition, its organisers and the winner.
During the event, Abdullah Tuncer Kececi, General Manager of Turkish Airlines, congratulating the winner said, “We organised this art competition focusing on students’ artistic talents. We always try to support such youth activities and will also organise many events like this. I would like to thank students for their participation and next year also we will organise this art competition.” He even praised the artwork of the winner and said, “Her art is about Turkey which is very artistic and creative as well.” He also suggested students to take some time for their hobbies during their school life.
The art competition winner, Vipassana Dhakal talking about her imagination and inspiration on winning painting said, “First of all, I needed some peaceful environment to think and brainstorm. So, I read the topic which is ‘Flying with Turkish Airlines: Dream Destination’ multiple times. I thought Turkey is a beautiful place as well as my dream destination and I have never been to Turkey. So, that’s how it came to my mind and I just painted this beautiful country, Turkey.” She even said that she’s been to many countries like Thailand, United Kingdom and Vietnam but this will be her very first flight experience with Turkish Airlines and she’s very excited about this trip.
