Nepal Telecom has extended 3G and 4G services to religious and tourist places in the Dhaulagiri region. This service extended to religious and tourist places in Baglung, Myagdi, Mustang, and Parbat has made it easier for local and foreign tourists to visit the tourist areas.
Arrangements have been made to allow easy access to the internet from places where 10 to 15 houses are slums, highways, and areas of public importance.
For the tourists going to the Dhaulagiri base camp, the 4G tower placed on Bagar hill has helped. From here, telephone, mobile, and internet have started working in the northern part of Gurjaghat and Dhorpatan.
Internet service has also been extended to Muktinath, Lomanthang, Thorangla Bhagyang, Patihalne of Rukum border, Niseldhor, etc. Telecom has already extended 4G service to the higher settlements including Lomanthang, Korla Naka, and Charang in Mustang.
As foreign tourists, as well as domestic tourists, have started going to those places in the hundreds, Telecom has extended the service. In Baglung, 62 towers are connected to 2G, 57 3G, and 54 4G towers.
22 2G, 21 3G, and 14 4G services have been extended in Myagdi. In Mustang, service is being operated from 31 2G, 26 3G, and 24 4G towers. According to the Baglung Telecom branch, the service has been expanded with 28 2G, 21 3G, and 26 4G towers in Parbat.
"After this arrangement, many people have felt security in the village. Especially the consumers of Myagdi and Mustang have felt more relief in the search, rescue, delivery, service, and safety of tourists after the accident." Keshav Sharma, head of Nepal Telecom Baglung branch.'
