National Open Duet Folk Song Competition, which started on July 28, will end on Saturday, July 30. During a press conference conducted on Wednesday in Pokhara, it was announced that up to 46 groups from across the nation are participating in the competition and necessary preparations have also been made.
According to Foundation Secretary and program coordinator Jeewan Dahal, the winner will get an award of Rs 600,000, which is currently the largest prize in folk music competitions in Nepal.
According to the hosts, the program is anticipated to bring in Rs 5.5 million in revenue while spending Rs 3.95 million.
Foundation Chairperson Captain Purna Bahadur Gurung Hyalmo informed that the competition is being held with the motive of creating a museum dedicated to Nepali folk music in Pokhara. _Rss
