The COVID-19 test lab has come into operation in Surkhet today. Testing has begun in the State Hospital after the Ministry of Health and Population provided the testing machine, kit and necessary human resources.
According to hospital director Dr Dambar Khadka, swab test would be collected from suspected coronavirus infected and tested in the lab. He added that all the preparations for the lab test have been completed and will come into operation today. The Ministry has assigned National Public Health Laboratory’s specialist Dr Ram Krishna Shrestha, as the expert technologist for the purpose. Shrestha would impart training to lab technicians staying here for about a week.
