The Ministry of Health and Population has directed hospitals to manage compulsory PCR tests to frontline health workers in the wake of increasing virus cases.
Ministry Spokesperson Dr Jageshwor Gautam informed that the hospitals have been directed to ensure PCR tests among doctors, nurses and health workers to ensure unobstructed service to the public.
Doctors, nurses and health workers have been found positive lately. Similarly, the Ministry has urged shopping malls, restaurants, hotels and industry to conduct PCR tests for their employees. Such direction was issued in the wake of growing cases of COVID-19 among people and those coming in their contact in the recent days.
The employing agencies will conduct the tests on their own, Dr Gautam added. Dr Gautam has appealed to everyone to maintain adequate safety measures and not to leave home except for emergency.
Ministry Spokesperson Dr Gautam restated that the coronavirus does not transmit from a dead body. However, if the fluid from the dead body is touched by hand and not sanitized, it spreads the infection. So, those attending the funeral rites must wash their hand, use gloves and wear a mask. He strongly urged everyone not to touch and embrace the dead body.
