Chitwan National Park initiated the camera trapping technique on December 18. Four cameras have been installed from Meghauli to the Golaghat area. Cameras have been installed in response to reports of a tiger and a Dhurbe elephant in the Meghauli Users Committee region.
Information Officer of the park, Ganesh Prasad Tiwari, stated that cameras have been installed in the Meghauli area after a wild elephant killed a woman from Bharatpur Metropolitan City-28 on December 17. Four people lost their lives to wildlife attacks in the current fiscal year. Two were killed by elephant attacks, one by tiger attacks, and one by rhino attacks.
"A technical team from Chitwan National Park is actively working on the matter to evaluate the situation." "We are involved in management as the conflict between the Dhurbe elephant and injured tiger might escalate," he added.
According to Chitwan National Park, a team has been assembled under the leadership of senior veterinarian, Dr. Bijay Kumar Shrestha, to implement the plan.
Initiatives are being initiated for the management of the wildlife by identifying their condition based on the information that the tiger is injured and there is also an elephant.
