This year, there was a disagreement over whether to celebrate Tihar on the 8th, 9th and 10th of the month or on the 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th.
Due to confusion in the public mind about Tihar, today the original Guru, along with the priest, called the auspicious time of Tihar and requested to celebrate Tihar on 7th, 8th and 9th of October.
“It was found that there was a dispute about when to celebrate Tihar, that's why Taleju has made a decision, now there is no need to dispute, Lakshmi Puja on the 7th of October, Mha Puja (Govardhan Puja) on the 8th and Kija Puja i.e. Bhai tika on the 9th. We request everyone to act accordingly.” Said the original priest of Bhaktapur Taleju, Narendra Prasad Joshi.
“Such disputes have been occurring for the past few years when the Nepal Panchang Judging Committee makes decisions without discussing with the concerned bodies while making the calendar” said joshi.
“The Panchang Judging Committee has stopped taking decisions by including the stakeholders when deciding on festivals and culture, so there have been such problems for the past few years, the committee should pay attention to this.” He added._ Rss
