The Annapurna region in Nepal, overseen by the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP), attracts a significant number of tourists each year, with a variety of attractions including the Annapurna base camp, Mardi Himal, Ghandruk, Tilicho Lake in Manang, Thorangla Pass, Upper Mustang, Muktinath area, and Ghodepani in Myagdi along the Annapurna circuit.
In March 2024, the region saw a total of 30,199 foreign tourists visiting, with 14,668 coming from South Asian countries and 15,531 from other countries.
The trend of increasing tourist arrivals is expected to continue into April as the cold season comes to an end, according to Dr. Rabin Kadaria, the Chief of ACAP.

In 2023, the Annapurna region welcomed a record-breaking 191,558 tourists from 173 countries, surpassing the pre-pandemic peak of 181,000 visitors in 2019. This marked a significant increase from the 129,733 visitors in 2022.
The Annapurna Conservation Area encompasses regions such as Kaski, Lamjung, Manang, Myagdi, and Mustang, covering an area of 7,600 square kilometers. These areas are known for their stunning natural beauty, diverse landscapes, and cultural heritage, making them popular destinations for both domestic and international tourists.
