Minister for Health and Population Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal directed all hub hospitals to come into full operation in the wake of the increasing number of COVID-19 infection

Considering the rising number of coronavirus infection cases in the country, the government has decided to bring all designated hub hospitals into full operation.

Inviting the heads of the hub hospitals to his Ministry on Friday, Minister for Health and Population Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal directed them to bring their respective hospitals into full operation. He also pointed out the need to consolidate communications channel and collaborate with one another.

The satellite hospitals should report to the hub hospital and the hub to the ministry regularly, he said. The Health Minister also committed to resolving any obstacles in terms of policy, guidelines and procedures. Stating that hospitals will not face any scarcity of health and medical supplies, Minister Dhakal emphasized on the need to boost the morale of the frontline doctors, nurses and health workers. A clear plan on human resource mobilization and preparedness for bed management in the event of rise in number of cases should be developed and implemented.

Those present in the meeting were Executive Director of TU Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj Dr Prem Krishna Khadga, Executive Director of Bir Hospital Kedar Century, Dr Udaya Bajracharya of Birendra Military Hospital, Executive Director of Patan Institute of Health Sciences Dr Bishnu Prasad Sharma,

Executive Director of Civil Service Hospital Dr Dirgharaj RC, Dr Sunil Dangol of Bhaktapur Hospital, Director General of Department of Health Services Mahendra Shrestha, expert at the Ministry Dr Dipendra Raman Singh, expert advisor Dr Khem Bahadur Karki, chief of Incident Command System Dr Gunaraj Lohani, among others, according to the Health Minister's press advisor Madhav Prasad Tiwari.
