A total of 569 people confirmed to have returned home recently from abroad were identified by the District Police Office, Jhapa with help from the local levels.
Among them, 98 have been quarantined at Mechinagar, Arjundhara, Bhadrapur, Birtamod and Damak municipalities as they returned within the past 15 days from those countries where the virus has already spread while 468 are at home in quarantine, DPO's Superintendent of Police and Spokesperson Mahendra Kumar Shrestha said.
Three people are in isolation at Mechi Zonal Hospital, according to the hospital’s focal person, Kul Bahadur Poudel.
As many as 311 of them returned from India, 115 from Dubai, 78 from Qatar, 9 each from Saudi Arabia and Australia, 7 from Malaysia, 5 each from Bahrain and Hong Kong while the others returned from France, Italy, Korea, Romania, Bangladesh, Japan and the United States of America .
