The Bhanu Municipality announced today a public holiday on the occasion of Bhanu Jayanti, July 14
According to the information officer at the Municipality Sunil Pandey, the municipality took the decision in the honour of Adikavi Bhanu Bhakta Acharya. Bhanu municipality, which was named after Adikavi Bhanubhakta Acharya – the towering figure of Nepali language and literature.
Earlier, the employees at Bhanu municipality had started wearing Bhanubhakta-era cap (Birkhe Topi) in his honour as well. The municipal executive meeting of Bhanu municipality had taken the decision to make wearing Bhanu cap mandatory for employees from Asar 1 (June 16).
The Bhanu Jayanti falls on (Asar 29th) each year i.e. July 14 this year. Marking the 205th birth anniversary of the poet, the municipality is organising various literary programmes in the memory of Bhanu Bhakta today.
