The construction of a 60 km long Himalayan Helambu Great Trail (trekking route) has begun at Helambu Rural Municipality, a popular tourist destination in Sindhupalchowk district. Neema Gyaljen Sherpa, Chairperson of the Rural Municipality, said that the project is estimated to complete at the cost of Rs 3 billion and set a target of constructing 120 mt of trail within this fiscal year. The State 3 government released a grant of Rs 5 million for this project.
The first route covers places from Buddha Park, Sermathang, Jyamothang, Amayangri, Bhemtnag and Gyangjala Bhanjyang. Likewise, the second route covers Ghoptegyang, Pakedanda, Dhadepati, Semi Sidang and Gyangjala. Once the construction of trekking routes are complete, it will be easier to reach Gosainkunda, a popular religious site in Rasuwa.
