The construction work of a road connecting Gharpajhong rural municipality-5, Thini to Tilicho Lake has begun. Currently, a 2.5 km road is in operation from Thini to Tangdung and now Infrastructure Development Office, Myagdi has opened the track to construct the road from Thini to Tilicho Lake. Omraj Dhungana, Head of Divisional Engineer from Infrastructure Development Office said that the construction of new roads and maintenance of already constructed roads has started.
Rs 5 million has been allocated for the construction of road and this project is being implemented through Consumer Committees. Chandra Mohan Gauchan, State Assembly Member informed that the budget would be allocated in the next fiscal year as well to complete the construction. Due to lack of roadway, it takes more than two days trek to reach Tilicho Lake from Thini. After construction of the road and transportation facilities, it will only take a day to reach Tilicho Lake.
