The Chhath festival is celebrated by worshippers near ponds, lakes, and rivers such as Gangasagar, Dhanushsagar, Ramsagar, Ratnasagar, Biharkunda, Rukmini Sarobar, Argaza, Maharajsagar, and Agnikunda, among others. The event is observed in the Kamalpokhari and Gaurighat, Kupondole areas of the Kathmandu Valley.
