Police on Sunday held two women here for their alleged involvement in suspiciously throwing the banknotes on the streets here.
Dhanusha District Police Office said that those arrested are Amuna Khatun and Alina Khatun of Janakpur Sub-Metropolitan City-7. The Khatuns are sisters-in-law. After their arrest, they have been kept in the District Police Office for necessary investigation.
The two ladies had fled the scene after suspiciously dispersing bank notes of denomination 5, 10 and 100 rupees on Friday afternoon. Based on the information from the locals, the police personnel had begun the investigation based on the CCTV footage, Deputy Superintendent of Police Rameshwor Karki said.
They were arrested from Janakinagar at 2:30 pm this afternoon, according to Karki.
