The tourism industry in Helambu, a picturesque mountain settlement in Sindhupalchok district, has bounced back after being heavily impacted by the 2015 Gorkha earthquake and the COVID-19 pandemic. The reconstruction of homes, monasteries, hotels, and tourism infrastructure has led to a surge in both domestic and foreign tourists visiting the area.
Trekking to Aama Yangri and the Melamchi Ghyang monastery are popular activities, with visitors also admiring the traditional Hyolmo settlements, white chortens, and colorful prayer flags. The influx of trekkers has gradually increased, with 40–50 tourists arriving daily.
Trekking trails to Simsisang Mountain and Ganjala Pass-Langtang area are under construction, and a dozen other trails are being repaired and improved. The hotels in Kiul and Helambu have been receiving a good number of guests, leading to an increase in business._Rss
