Ten of thousands in cities like Berlin, Leipzig, Bautzen and many more have signed manifestos against illegal anti-vaccine demonstrations

With travel restrictions and quarantines being more and more of a politicized issue, many activists in Germany have taken to the streets to oppose vaccination opponents who are also taking the issue to the streets resulting in strife.

Many counter-protesters have risen in the cities and towns of Germany to support the government's pandemic restrictions and a universal vaccine mandate, which is under discussion in the German parliament for the first time. They have spoken against vaccination opponents, conspiracy theorists and far-right extremists who led protests against vaccinations and other restrictions.

Ten of thousands in cities like Berlin, Leipzig, Bautzen and many more have signed manifestos against illegal anti-vaccine demonstrations. Others meanwhile have formed a human chain in cities to act out against far-right extremists while medical students in Dresden conducted a silent vigil in protest for a rally by far-right sceptics.

The silent majority in Germany have been obediently following and even endorse the government actions to clamp down on the virus spreading. But many of them have felt alienated due to the media focus on the vaccine deniers on the far right getting disproportionate amounts of attention.

With 73.5% of Germany's population being vaccinated and over half having received a booster shot, many of them took to the streets to have their voices heard to combat the spread of far-right vaccine deniers on media.

While not all of the anti-vaccine protesters are not outright deniers of the pandemic with some just being afraid of the vaccine or thinking the state's policies is a bit too restrictive, many radical groups have tried to seize and hijack the protest movement for their gains, leading to protests by the pro-vaccine and pro-government groups.
