The Soaltee Hotel Kathmandu has partnered with Gham Power Nepal to implement a 506-kilowatt solar system across the hotel's rooftops and parking area, demonstrating a commitment to sustainable hospitality. This collaborative effort is expected to eliminate the need for 196 kiloliters of diesel and reduce carbon emissions by an impressive 995 metric tons over the next 15 years. Beyond substantial cost savings on electricity bills, the initiative signifies a significant advancement in energy efficiency and a notable reduction in carbon footprint.
On January 25, 2024, The Soaltee Kathmandu and Gham Power co-hosted an event titled "Making Greener Cities Together," advocating for the adoption of solar power in commercial sectors. The focus of the event was to enhance the reliability of the national power grid, diminish carbon footprints, and replace environmentally harmful alternatives such as diesel with cost-effective and stable energy solutions. Attendees included representatives from governmental bodies, international and national finance institutions, renewable energy organizations, and public and private companies.
