The resumption of flights to Lukla following reports of improved weather conditions in the region

Flights on the Manthali-Lukla route have recommenced following a week-long hiatus due to unfavorable weather conditions. Lukla Airport, situated in the neighboring Solukhumbu district, had remained closed for the duration of the adverse weather. This morning, with the skies clearing in Lukla, flights between Manthali and Lukla have resumed.

During the closure of Lukla airport, aircraft operated by Sita, Tara, and Summit airlines were grounded in Manthali. To accommodate foreign tourists bound for Lukla, some opted for helicopter rides to Surke in Solu, while others chose road travel up to Phaplu.

Pravin Subedi, Tara Air's Ramechhap in-charge, affirmed the resumption of flights to Lukla following reports of improved weather conditions in the region.

With the weather improving, foreign tourists are now traveling to Manthali from Kathmandu via road route to Lukla.

According to Prajwal Guragain, a senior officer at the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) in Ramechhap, it has been planned to operate Manthali-Lukla flights throughout the day on a rotational basis, contingent upon weather conditions.
